About me
Hello, I’m Meg and I am a newly qualified counselling. I work to support adults and young people with a range of presenting issues delivering in person work.
I once was in a position where having my own worries led me to find counselling where I felt supported and was able to take positive steps into bettering my life. This inspired me to learn and want train as a therapist because I feel passionate about providing others with the same support I received.
Speaking out can be difficult, scary and daunting but I would like to welcome you in by providing you with a safe space to be able to be yourself, express your needs and for me to walk alongside you so you’re not on your own.
No matter what you are thinking or feeling, I am able to offer you empathy and understanding through your difficulties. Moving onto making positive steps for a healthier living and working to find out more about yourself.
Therapy can be as freely run as you like it to be, whether you are struggling after loss, battling with uncomfortable feelings of anxiety, having difficulties within your relationships or feeling like you don’t know where to put your thoughts. I will be here to listen without judgement and be alongside you.
My style of counselling is person centred, meaning I will be wholly accepting of you but am open to integrate other methods of counselling such as a more directiveness or creative ways of working to make fit for you and who you are. I have a particular interest in working creatively with clients such as using paper, pens, drawings and more to aid support in exploring and understanding your thoughts and feelings.
I have 3 years’ worth of experience working with young people with additional learning needs and complex behaviour where communication and talking was a key factor in exploring themselves. I want to give young people the confidential space to discuss things going on around them without having the pressures of speaking to others within their circle.
I also have experience working with many types of bereavement and loss after working for Cruse bereavement service. I support clients through their difficult losses by allowing them to just express their feelings and thoughts for the person lost and discussing ways in which would help you to move forward through your bereavement.
