Dr Louise Tarrant
About me
I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist who provides specialist psychological assessments and therapy for adolescents and adults who have distressing mental or physical health symptoms. I have additional specific expertise in working with adolescents and adults who are struggling with Chronic Pain.
I work alongside individuals who have anxiety, panic, depression, grief and post trauma symptoms. I teach strategies that support people to manage or overcome their symptoms and to return to a quality of life.
I have lots of experience in working with people who are living with Chronic Pain, including: fibromyalgia, back pain, migraine, musculoskeletal pain, neurological conditions, CRPS, gastroenterological conditions and post viral / chronic fatigue. I provide a comprehensive, personalised pain management programme of strategies and coping approaches, again with the aim of improving quality of life.
I completed Doctorate in Clinical Psychology training in 2006 and then additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) for complex mental and physical health conditions.
I gained valuable experience when working in a range of mental and physical health services and I have 10 years experience in leading interdisciplinary teams working with adolescent and adult rehabilitation groups in a National Tertiary Chronic Pain NHS service.
