Dr Louise Tarrant
About me
I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist.  I specialise in supporting people who are struggling with Chronic Pain, to have more fulfilling lives despite the presence of pain.  I have specific skills in helping people who are overwhelmed by pain flares and who feel guilty about letting others down, who feel terrified that their pain will get worse or who feel confused by contradicting advice on either resting more or ‘pushing through pain’.

Please see my website www.DrLTarrantTherapy.co.uk for more information or feel free to email me to ask a question: louise@DrLTarrantTherapy.co.uk

I completed a Masters in Applied Psychology in 2000 and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2006.  I have specific training in the provision of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).  I have gained much experience working in a range of specialist chronic pain NHS services.  I am registered as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS).

I have experience in working with people who are living with many types of chronic and persistent pain, fibromyalgia, chronic back pain, migraine and headache, musculoskeletal and joint pains, neurological conditions, CRPS, abdominal and gastroenterological conditions and post viral or chronic fatigue.  Alongside these very distressing conditions I also typically work with people who have anxiety, panic, depression, grief and post trauma symptoms.

I can accept insurance paid therapy.  Please do enquire about this; I need to be made aware in advance if insurance is the intended method of payment.  In addition to providing appointments at The Wellbeing Centre, Chepstow, I also provide appointments for online therapy as requested and required.
My normal working hours at the centre are:
Tuesday 1pm - 6pm
Fees
I can offer a free 20-minute phone call so that you can decide if I am the right person to help you.  All sessions are 60 minutes long and are £90.  I can offer a sliding scale if required.
