Frauke Pelz
I am an integrative counsellor and certified trauma therapist. I am member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I offer you a safe and confidential space, protected from the demands of daily life, in which you may share and explore your personal narratives that brought you to seeking some help. As an integrative practitioner, I draw on many different approaches and resources in response to my clients’ individual needs and preferences. At the core of my work is my belief that, ‘It’s the relationship that heals’ (Irvin D Yalom), relationship with ourselves, with other people or our human and physical environments.
I work with adults who have experienced a wide range of difficulties, relating for instance, to adverse childhood experiences, bereavement, shame, addictions, obsessive compulsive behaviours. anxiety, depression, low self-esteem as well as difficult relationships with our body, sexuality or gender. From personal and professional experiences, I am aware of challenges that individuals may experience when working in high pressure, powerful roles. Through my working in the NHS for 30 years, I have developed insights into what it may be like to be living with chronic pain, acute or chronic illness or disabilities. I worked with survivors of sexual and domestic violence at a national charity for four years.
Depending on your needs and preferences, I work over shorter or longer periods of time. I see clients face to face, online using zoom and by telephone. I charge £50 for a 60 min session. I work in English or German.
