About me
During our life, regardless of our age, it is not unusual for us to have times of difficulties or sadness. It is during these times we might need to seek the support of a Counsellor. We know that early intervention helps build resilience and allows us to develop skills which support us in living more resourcefully and developing a stronger sense of well-being. I offer clients’ a confidential and supportive counselling relationship, hopefully helping them restore balance in their life. I work in an integrative way, but always with the client at the centre of the work, I see my role as facilitating a client in their journey of healing, self-discovery and growth.
I have been counselling adults and young people in Private Practice since 2010; my counselling career began in 2005, volunteering for a Bristol counselling agency and as a Secondary School Counsellor. I worked within the education sector for over 20 years. During this time I have had the privilege of working alongside many children, young people and adults. I have witnessed their growth and development despite, in many cases, having a number of challenges to overcome. This leads me to believe strongly in our capacity to heal, grow, and achieve our full potential.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in Human Resources, later in Careers Advice and Guidance, and as a Learning Mentor. Although I enjoyed this work, I felt that I could offer something more, and so my career began as a Counsellor, working with adults, children, and young people, both privately and within education. In addition to this, I work for a Counselling and Training Charity as Head of Counselling and Training and also deliver training in listening and counselling skills, along with delivering a range of CPD workshops for counselling professionals.
I am also a Clinical Supervisor, working with counsellors and supervisors, I also offer Reflective Practice and Pastoral supervision to middle and senior managers within education and other pastoral professions.
